O ct 1 99 7 Event Shape Analysis of Deep Inelastic Scattering Events with a Large Rapidity Gap at HERA ZEUS
A global event shape analysis of the multihadronic final states observed in neutral current deep inelastic scattering events with a large rapidity gap with respect to the proton direction is presented. The analysis is performed in the range 5 ≤ Q ≤ 185 GeV and 160 ≤ W ≤ 250 GeV, where Q is the virtuality of the photon andW is the virtual-photon proton centre of mass energy. Particular emphasis ...
متن کاملLarge Rapidity Gap Events in Deep Inelastic Scattering
Large Rapidity Gap Events in Deep Inelastic Scattering are discussed in terms of lightcone wave functions for quarks and gluons inside the photon. It is shown that this approach is consistent with earlier, conventional Feynman diagram calculations. An updated parametrization for the cross section is given and a numerical analysis presented.

Inclusive production of D(2010) mesons in deep inelastic scattering has been measured using ep and ep data obtained with the ZEUS detector at HERA using integrated luminosities of 16.7 and 65.2pb, respectively. The decay channel D → Dπ with D → Kπ and corresponding antiparticle decays were used to identify D mesons. The D cross sections in ep and ep interactions agree with NLO QCD predictions, ...
متن کاملMeasurement of event shapes in deep inelastic scattering at HERA
Inclusive event-shape variables have been measured in the current region of the Breit frame for neutral current deep inelastic ep scattering using an integrated luminosity of 45.0 pb−1 collected with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The variables studied included thrust, jet broadening and invariant jet mass. The kinematic range covered was 10 < Q2 < 20 480GeV and 6 × 10−4 < x < 0.6, where Q2 is the ...
متن کاملLarge extra dimensions and deep-inelastic scattering at HERA
In scenarios motivated by string theories, it is possible to have extra Kaluza-Klein dimensions compactified to rather large magnitudes, leading to large effects of gravity at scales down to a TeV. The effect of the spin-2 Kaluza-Klein modes on the deepinelastic cross-section at HERA is investigated. We find that the data can be used to obtain bounds on the effective low energy scale, MS . prak...
